The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has cautioned driver to observe road regulations to save lives as more than six persons die everyday through road crashes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Acting Director General of NRSA, Ing. David Osafo Adonteng revealed this at a New Legislative Instrument (LI) workshop with Parliamentary Press Corps in Accra last Saturday, .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said, even though the 2022 has witnessed 18% reduction of road crashes fatalities as compare to that of 2021, there is still more to be done o improve the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ing Osafo however urged the Media in Parliament to join forces with the NRSA. to continue with public education and sensitsation on the need for safety driving at all time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On her part, a Senior Manager at the Department of Research Monitoring and Evaluation, Ms Hannatu Abdulai bemoaned the increasing rate of accidents involving Motorbikes in the country.nc<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She indicated that the number of fatalities due to motorbikes accidents have shot up and attributed it to reckless driving without a protective helmet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said over 2,500 people lose their lives annually, but noted that it could be curves should drivers observe traffic regulations on the roads, emphasizing that safety and prevention is key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director of Regulations, Inspections, and Compliance at the NRSA, Lawyer Kwame Koduah Atuahene, took the parliamentary press Corps through the new L.I and its operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said with the new LI, the Authority is empowered to take certain measures without the police direct involvement to minimise if not prevent avoidable road crashes.
He therefore call on the Media to support the Authority to implement the L.I to help reduce the carnages on our roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
