President Mahama has appointed Mr. Aaron Kanor as Acting Commissioner of the Customs Division, Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), effective immediately.

‎Mr. Kanor, a customs veteran with over three decades of experience in revenue mobilization, border security, and trade facilitation, previously served as Officer in Charge of Port Operations.

‎A press statement issued by the GRA said the new Commissioner of Customs has held key roles such as Sector Commander at Kotoka International Airport and Wa Collections, and Chief Revenue Officer in several regions.

His tenure has seen intelligence‑led crackdowns on smuggling, invoice fraud, and vehicle‑ID manipulation, boosting revenue and security.

Mr Kanor  has also driven modernization projects—electronic valuation systems and efficiency‑improving initiatives—to align Ghana’s customs with international standards.

‎His appointment is expected to strengthen customs administration, improve compliance, and support economic growth..

GRA’s Board, Management and staff congratulated Mr. Kanor and thanked outgoing Commissioner Brigadier General Glover Ashong Annan for his leadership.
