Encouraging Back to School: Life for Relief and Development Donates to 600 Children in Jasikan
In an effort to support underprivileged children, especially orphans in deprived communities, Life for Relief and Development, a U.S.-based non-governmental organization, has made a significant donation to the children of Hira Academic Centre in Jasikan, Oti Region.
The NGO provided 600 school bags, 600 branded umbrellas, 100 cartons of Note3 exercise books, 100 cartons of Note1 exercise books, 150 packs of pens, 200 packs of pencils, 300 dozen sharpeners, 300 dozen mathematical sets, and 300 dozen erasers.

The items were distributed on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at an event organized at the Hira Academic Centre, coinciding with the start of the new academic year.
The initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on parents while ensuring that children are well-equipped for school.

Alhaji Farouk Umar Ibrahim, the Country Director of Life for Relief and Development, stated that the “Back to School” project is part of the organization’s broader mission to promote socio-cultural development, foster social cohesion, and support diversity, inclusion, and advocacy.
He emphasized that the donations are meant to uplift the morale of the children, helping them to focus on their education and develop the skills needed to solve future problems.

“This initiative seeks to eliminate barriers to education for children in need. We believe that every child, regardless of their background, deserves the chance to attend school, explore their potential, and build a better future for themselves and their communities,” said Farouk Ibrahim.
By providing essential school supplies, nutritious meals, and even covering part of the school fees for some children, Life for Relief and Development ensures that children from vulnerable communities can not only attend school but excel in their studies.

The authorities of Hira Academic Centre expressed their gratitude to Life for Relief and Development for supporting vulnerable children in the municipality.
They believe the donated materials will ease the financial strain on parents and guardians.
The authorities also encouraged the children to take their studies seriously and strive for success in both their academic and personal lives.
