Minister Ahmed Ibrahim Outlines “Reset Agenda” for Local Governance in 2026
Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a revitalized “Reset Agenda” for 2026.
In a New Year message addressed to traditional authorities, religious leaders, and the public, the Minister emphasized that the coming year will focus on deep-seated local government reforms.
Drawing inspiration from the themes of hope and restoration, the Minister stated that the “Reset Agenda” is more than just a policy—it is a commitment to a fresh start for Ghana.
Some the key priorities for the Ministry in 2026 includes strengthening fiscal discipline at the local level, increasing the involvement of traditional and religious leaders in social development, and ensuring that national renewal reaches every district and traditional area.
”Let us enter 2026 with the conviction that our best days are ahead,” the Minister remarked, calling for collective effort to build a more equitable society.
