The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has been officially decorated with the “Pillar of Community Development Honor” at the high-profile Blackstar Acclamation Honorary Award Summit.
The ceremony, which took place last Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, recognized the MP’s dual impact as a dedicated public servant and a visionary entrepreneur.
The summit, organized by a global body with continental offices spanning London, Brasilia, Georgia, Beijing, and Canberra, operated under the theme “Rebuilding Trust, Restoring Hope: A New Era of Governance in Ghana.”
The citation accompanying the award lauded Hon. Cudjoe’s “exceptional leadership and strong commitment to serving the community,” noting that her selfless efforts have been instrumental in driving positive change and setting a high standard for governance within the Fourth Republic.
Speaking to *ExpressNewsGhana* shortly after receiving her honors, the Amenfi Central lawmaker expressed profound gratitude for the recognition, framing it as a milestone in her journey of female empowerment. She reflected on her personal drive to rise above challenges and serve as a beacon for other women and vulnerable groups in her constituency.
”From day one, I’ve always dreamed big and decided to do something bigger because I have a bigger ambition,” Hon. Cudjoe stated.
“I always believe that as a woman, I need to rise, I need to work hard to be able to empower the women and the victims. I feel so happy and so privileged to receive this real award and I’m so grateful.”

The award ceremony highlighted her proactive approach to representation, where she has blended her entrepreneurial expertise with her legislative duties to foster local growth.
When questioned about her specific targets for her four-year tenure, the MP revealed a deep-seated desire to be a problem-solver for her constituents, focusing on tangible developments that will stand the test of time.
”What I really want to achieve is to impart more life, to develop my community, to help whatever I can do possible to make sure that I’ll be a person who can solve their problems,” she emphasized.
“I’m working so hard but I believe that I’ll be able to achieve something greater and much bigger. I’m already doing much and I know that at the end of that four years, when you put everything together, you look back and say, ‘she did it and she made it,’ and that’s what I’m working towards.”
The Blackstar Acclamation Honorary Award Summit 2025/26 also served as a broader reflection on public service in Ghana, specifically acknowledging the commitment of figures like President John Dramani Mahama toward restoring public hope.
By receiving the “Pillar of Community Development Honor,” Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe has solidified her reputation as a leader who prioritizes the needs of the grassroots, ensuring that the people of Amenfi Central remain at the heart of her political and social agenda.
