Speaker Donates to Ghana National Fire Service, NADSU, and Sombo SHS
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has demonstrated a strong commitment to national development and community support by donating a total of GH¢100,000 from his personal resources toward the completion of a fence wall project for the Ghana National Fire Service.
The gesture, which also extended support to the Nadowli Kaleo Students Union (NADSU) and Sombo Senior High School (SHS), reflects his dedication to initiatives that promote safety, education, and youth empowerment.
In his remarks, Speaker Bagbin expressed deep appreciation for what he described as a rare opportunity to contribute to three causes that are particularly close to his heart.

He emphasized the need to prioritize safety, security, and the protection of lives and property, urging Ghanaian not to overlook the critical role played by emergency services.
According to him, the Ghana National Fire Service remains an institution the nation cannot afford to treat with indifference.
He reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to supporting policies and legislative measures aimed at retooling and equipping the Service to enhance its operational efficiency.

The Speaker also commended the regional leadership of the Service for their initiative and proactive efforts in mobilizing resources, expressing confidence that the completion of the fence wall would significantly improve security at the Regional Headquarters.
In addition, he donated items valued at over GH¢70,000 to the Home Economics Department of Sombo SHS and its administration to support their activities. He further presented GH¢10,000 to the Nadowli Kaleo Students Union (NADSU).
Speaker Bagbin concluded by urging individuals, corporate organisations, and other stakeholders to invest in the development of young people, particularly students, to help them realise their full potential.
He also called on philanthropists to support the Ghana National Fire Service, stressing that its work is essential to the safety and well-being of all citizens.
