The Member of Parliament(MP) for Prestea Huni-Valley, Hon. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving educational infrastructure and expanding access to quality education by cutting the sod for the construction of two new classroom projects in the constituency.

The sod-cutting ceremonies, held at Abekakrom and Prestea Gambia, marked the commencement of work on two 3-unit classroom blocks with auxiliary facilities aimed at replacing deteriorated school structures and creating a more conducive learning environment for pupils.

The MP was joined by the Municipal Chief Executive for Prestea Huni-Valley, Hon. Dr. Mathew Ayeh, traditional authorities, education officials, community leaders, and residents for the brief but significant ceremonies.

Speaking at the events, Hon. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe described education as the most powerful tool for transforming lives and communities, stressing that investments in school infrastructure remain a key priority of his development agenda for the constituency.

Every child deserves access to a safe and conducive environment for learning. These classroom projects are part of our broader commitment to ensuring that children across Prestea Huni-Valley have the opportunity to receive quality education regardless of where they live,” he stated.

The projects are expected to replace old and dilapidated facilities that have become unsafe for teaching and learning, while providing modern classrooms and supporting amenities to improve educational outcomes in the beneficiary communities.

Beyond infrastructure development, Hon. Cudjoe highlighted his continued support for students through various educational assistance programmes.

According to him, numerous needy but brilliant students across the constituency have benefited from financial support for their education at both the Senior High School and tertiary levels.

He noted that many students who faced the risk of dropping out due to financial challenges have received assistance through his intervention, enabling them to continue their academic pursuits.

Education should not be a privilege reserved for only those who can afford it. We have consistently supported students with the payment of school fees and other educational needs because we believe every young person deserves a chance to succeed,” the MP emphasized.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Mathew Ayeh, commended the Member of Parliament for prioritizing education and investing in projects that directly impact the future of the constituency’s children.

He urged contractors to ensure quality work and timely completion of the projects to enable pupils and teachers to benefit from the facilities as soon as possible.

The sod-cutting ceremonies also coincided with activities marking the birthday of Hon. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe, celebrated on June 6.

Residents and community leaders used the occasion to express appreciation for his contributions to educational development and other social interventions within the constituency.

The classroom projects add to a growing list of educational initiatives being undertaken across Prestea Huni-Valley, reflecting a sustained effort to improve infrastructure, enhance teaching and learning conditions, and expand opportunities for young people to achieve their academic aspirations.
