Assembly Member for the Tanzui, Sokabisi Zorbisi and Waribisi Electoral Area, Michael Ayinne Ayeporeba, has reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Bolga Central and the wider Bolgatanga Municipality despite stepping down from the race for the position of Presiding Member (PM) of the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly.

Speaking in an interview on Bolga FM, Mr. Ayinne outlined what he described as a bold and inclusive vision for the municipality, stressing that unity and collaboration among stakeholders are essential to accelerating development.

According to him, Bolga Central must move beyond the recurring patterns that have slowed progress over the years.

“When we remain confined within the same cycles, development eludes us. We must step out of our comfort zones and engage with a broad spectrum of stakeholders who have historically paved the way for growth in our region,” he said.

Mr. Ayinne emphasized the need to bring together influential individuals and groups who have contributed significantly to the advancement of Bolgatanga and the Upper East Region.

“We need to reach out to people such as Bishop Eswood Anaba, the Richmandas, the Akayets, the Akubas and many others who have laid the foundation for our progress. It is imperative that we collaborate with them to build a brighter future for Bolga Central and the municipality as a whole,” he stated.

The Assembly Member noted that his vision extends beyond political leadership and focuses on building partnerships that can drive innovation, attract investment and deliver sustainable development for residents.

In a demonstration of party unity and commitment to the municipality’s progress, Mr. Ayinne announced his decision to step aside during the contest for the Presiding Member position and throw his support behind the eventual winner, Lambert Akonzebe, who succeeds Stephen Akugre Abelima.

“I am stepping down for progress and development,” Mr. Ayinne declared.

He added that although he was no longer in the race, his determination to contribute to the growth of Bolga Central and the municipality remained unwavering.

“My vision to develop Bolga Central and the municipality at large remains very strong. I am ready to offer my full support to Lambert Akonzebe to ensure that together we work for the progress of our people,” he said.

Mr. Ayinne’s endorsement of the new Presiding Member is being viewed by many as a significant step toward fostering unity within the Assembly and advancing a common development agenda for the municipality.

As Bolgatanga looks to the future, his call for inclusive dialogue, strategic partnerships and collective responsibility presents what many see as a promising pathway toward revitalization, growth and improved living conditions for residents across the municipality.
