NDC Zongo Coordinator Aspirant Alhaji Sheriff Urges Peace, Unity Ahead of Constituency Elections
National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Zongo Coordinator aspirant, Alhaji Sheriff, has urged candidates contesting the party’s constituency executive elections to prioritise peace, unity and discipline before, during and after the electoral process.
In a goodwill message to the candidates, Alhaji Sheriff wished all contestants success, stressing the need for party members to uphold democratic principles and demonstrate a strong commitment to the ideals of the NDC.
“As we approach this important exercise in our party’s democratic process, I encourage all candidates to conduct themselves with dignity, respect, discipline and a strong commitment to the values and ideals of our great party,” he said.
He noted that although competition was an essential part of democracy, the collective interest of the party must always take precedence over individual ambitions.
“I urge all contestants to embrace peace, unity and sportsmanship before, during and after the elections. While competition is an essential part of democracy, our collective interest as a party must always take precedence over individual ambitions,” Alhaji Sheriff stated.
He also called on delegates and party faithful to exercise their franchise responsibly, emphasising the importance of fairness, transparency and internal democracy in strengthening the party’s electoral structures.
According to him, building strong constituency structures remains crucial to positioning the NDC for future electoral victories.
“I firmly believe that strengthening our constituency structures is crucial to building a united, formidable and victorious NDC,” he added.
Alhaji Sheriff further urged party members to remain united regardless of the election results, insisting that the party’s broader objectives and commitment to serving Ghanaians must remain paramount.
“Regardless of the outcome, we must all remain committed to working together to advance the party’s interests and serve the Ghanaian people,” he said.
He concluded by wishing all candidates a peaceful, transparent and successful election, expressing hope that the exercise would strengthen party unity and renew members’ determination to advance the interests of Ghana and the NDC.
“May the process strengthen our bonds of unity and renew our collective determination to move Ghana and the NDC forward,” he stated.
He however called for national and party unity, declaring: “Long live Ghana! Long live the NDC! Long live our grassroots structures!”
Alhaji Sheriff is seeking to become the NDC’s National Zongo Coordinator.
