The Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Finance and Investment at the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Ms Anatu Anne Seidu Bogobiri, has defended President John Dramani Mahama’s development agenda, insisting that public confidence in the administration remains strong despite intense debate over some of its major policy interventions.

According to Ms Bogobiri, vigorous public discussions surrounding initiatives such as the GoldBod policy, fuel-sector reforms, the Big Push infrastructure programme and the Kumasi Expressway should not be interpreted as a loss of confidence in the government.

She said such debates were rather evidence of an active democratic environment in which citizens were exercising their right to scrutinise government policies and demand accountability.

“What is striking is the sustained public confidence in the administration of President John Dramani Mahama,” Ms. Bogobiri said.

She argued that, despite differing views on the government’s policies, a significant section of the Ghanaian population remained committed to the administration’s vision and the broader objectives of the Reset Agenda.

Ms Bogobiri said the government’s policies were gradually moving from planning and implementation to measurable outcomes, with progress beginning to emerge across various sectors.

“Implementation is ongoing, and the results are beginning to take shape gradually,” she remarked.

She urged the government to maintain momentum in its development programmes and stay focused on delivering on the commitments made to Ghanaians.

Ms Bogobiri expressed confidence that President Mahama remained on course to fulfil his mandate and deliver the government’s development agenda.

“President John Dramani Mahama should remain focused on delivering on his mandate. The Reset Agenda is strongly on course,” she affirmed.
