MPs return to Parliament on January 25
Members of Ghana’s Parliament will officially resume duty for the Second Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
The MPs were initially scheduled to return from recess on January 18, after the House adjourned sine-die, at the peak of the debate over the urgency of the Electronic –transaction Levy Bill, known as the E-Levy Bill.
A press statement released by the Public Affairs Directorates of Parliament and copied to EXPRESSNEWSGHANA indicated that all the 275 MPs are expected to return to the august House on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at 10:00 am.
“The Parliamentary Service wishes to inform all Honourable Members and Staff of Parliamentary Service that the Second Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic will commence on Tuesday, 25 January 2022, at Ten O’clock in the forenoon at Parliament House, Accra,” portion of the statement read.
The Statement urged the 275 MPs and the parliamentary staff to report to the House on time.
The house is expected to resume on consideration of the controversial E-levy Bill which brought chaos on the floor a day before the House went on recess.
