The Member of Parliament for Tain in the Bono Region, Hon Adama Sulemana has described the six years of President Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration as a failure, “in every sector of our national life.”

According to him, the evidence available in his constituency and every part of the country confirms that the Akufo-Addo administration has failed woefully in all its promises and claims, particularly in the fight against corruption, economy, security, education, democracy as well as national unity cohesion.

Speaking in an interview with EXPRESSNEWSGHANA, Hon Adama, a member of the Communication Committee of parliament said his recent visit to his constituency during the recess revealed that claims by the NPP government that the economy is resilient have been exposed as a charade as the level of abject poverty and hardship hurting his constituents.

“President Akufo-Addo’s government has made the people poorer as they come to meet them. My Constituents are bearing the biggest brand of poverty under Akufo Addo,” he said, adding that farmers could not afford agrochemicals and in his view, the government has failed woefully.

He said, instead of fighting corruption and putting measures that would improve the well being of the citizens, the Akufo-Addo regime has practically become a felonious empire of corrupt individuals, contract inflators, looters of state resources and well-known liars, making it, ‘head to toe’, the biggest assemblage of plunderers in the history of our nation.

The Tain lawmaker added that, due to the incompetence and corruption of the Akufo-Addo, presidency our once robust economy has been wrecked, resulting in unbearable hardship, unemployment, hunger and starvation, strange sicknesses and untold depression.

Under President Akufo-Addo, the nation has become dangerously divided. Violent clashes and bloodletting have become the order of the day.

The rights of citizens are daily violated and democratic institutions, including the courts and other state institutions, have come under state capture, elections are rigged with impunity and the unity of our beloved country is now under stress.

The MP further chided the Akufo-Addo government for not doing enough in the provision of better services to Ghanaians in line with his electioneering promises.
