“I Will Work to Fulfil the Reset Agenda” – Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings Takes Over as Environment Minister
Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings has officially assumed office as the Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology following a formal handover ceremony from the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, who previously served as the acting sector minister.
Taking over the leadership of the ministry, Dr Agyeman-Rawlings expressed her commitment to driving sustainable development, advancing technological innovation, and aligning the sector’s goals with the broader governance objectives of the current administration.
Strengthening Ghana’s Environmental and Technological Priorities
During the transition meeting, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings voiced her gratitude for the warm reception from the ministry’s leadership and expressed enthusiasm for the critical task ahead.
She underscored her determination to collaborate broadly across all affiliated state bodies and strategic partners to drive meaningful progress.
“I look forward to working with the leadership and staff of the Ministry, our agencies and partners to advance Ghana’s environmental sustainability, science, technology, and innovation agenda,” Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings declared. “I am grateful for the warm welcome and look forward to the work ahead.”
Seamless Transition and Consolidating Gains
Handing over administrative authority, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah provided the incoming minister with a detailed operational briefing.

The comprehensive status update covered the ministry’s ongoing initiatives, operational milestones, and strategic priorities to ensure a smooth transition without disrupting ongoing public projects.
Hon. Armah-Kofi Buah expressed strong confidence in Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings’ capability to lead the sector toward significant growth while executing the vision of the presidency.
“Today, I officially handed over the reins of the Ministry of Environment, Science, and Technology to the newly sworn-in sector minister, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings,” Hon. Armah-Kofi Buah stated.
“During our handover meeting, I provided a comprehensive briefing on the Ministry’s ongoing initiatives, key milestones, and current operational status to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. I am confident that under her capable leadership, the ministry will consolidate the gains made and achieve even greater results to advance the President’s Reset Agenda.”
He acknowledged the executive trust placed in him throughout his tenure as caretaker minister, adding, “I extend my profound gratitude to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for the honour and trust reposed in me.”
