Chelsea FC were crowned FIFA Club World Cup champions for the second time after a commanding 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in a pulsating final at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Under the leadership of new manager Enzo Maresca, the Blues delivered a tactically astute and emotionally charged performance to see off the reigning European champions and add yet another prestigious international trophy to their cabinet.

Young sensation Cole Palmer set the tone early, scoring twice in the first half to give Chelsea a comfortable lead. Summer signing João Pedro, who has now scored three goals in the tournament, sealed the win with a composed finish in the second half.

This triumph marks Chelsea’s second Club World Cup title, having first won the tournament in 2021. The dominant display from the Premier League side firmly reinforces their status as a global football powerhouse.

While PSG improved after the break—Ousmane Dembélé hit the post and Vitinha narrowly missed with a curling effort—the French champions failed to break down Chelsea’s resolute defence. The game ultimately turned sour for PSG in the dying minutes when João Neves was shown a straight red card for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair.

Tensions boiled over as PSG manager Luis Enrique reacted angrily on the touchline, reportedly confronting Chelsea’s João Pedro in a manner that could earn him a suspension. The conduct of PSG’s players and technical team in the second half drew criticism, with many labelling it unsportsmanlike.

Despite the drama, Chelsea held firm and deservedly lifted the trophy. With the UEFA Super Cup and now the FIFA Club World Cup added to their recent honours, the Blues continue to expand their dominance beyond English and European football.
