Friends of Prosper Donate 50kVA Generator to Upper East Muslim Community
The Muslim community in Ghana’s Upper East Region has received a major boost following the donation of a 50-kilovolt-ampere (50kVA) generator plant by Friends of Prosper, a gesture that has drawn widespread praise from religious leaders and community members.
The donation, led by Mr. Prosper Ayimbila through the Friends of Prosper group, is expected to provide reliable electricity support for the regional mosque and other important community activities.
Speaking after receiving the generator, the Secretary to the Upper East Regional Chief Imam, Mohammed Arimiyawu, described the intervention as timely and highly commendable, stressing that it reflects the kind of leadership many communities expect from politicians and public figures.
“We want to express our sincere gratitude to Friends of Prosper and to Mr. Prosper Ayimbila for this significant contribution.
“These are the kind of politicians we are looking for—leaders who understand the basic needs of the people and are prepared to support them,” Mr. Arimiyawu stated.
According to him, political leadership should not only be about campaign promises but also about identifying and addressing the pressing concerns of communities.

“When leaders touch the hearts of the people by responding to their real needs, the support they seek will naturally follow,” he added.
Mr. Arimiyawu further disclosed that several parliamentarians in the region had previously been approached to assist in completing the regional mosque and addressing other community needs, but none had demonstrated the level of commitment shown by Mr. Ayimbila.
“We have approached a number of parliamentarians to support some of the basic needs required to complete the regional mosque, but none has widened their scope the way Prosper Ayimbila has done,” he noted.
The newly donated generator is expected to improve power supply for religious programmes, social gatherings, and other activities within the Muslim community, particularly during periods of unstable electricity supply.
Community members say the gesture has not only addressed an urgent need but has also set an example of meaningful community engagement and support in the Upper East Region.
