Assemblies of God Calls for National Honour for Fallen Heroes
The Assemblies of God Church in Ghana has called for a national honor to be bestowed upon the eight fallen heroes who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The church joins the nation in mourning the loss of Defence Minister Dr. Omane Boamah, Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Dr. Mutarla Mohamed, and six other national heroes.
National Unity
The Assemblies of God hopes that the tragedy will bring the nation together, transcending political, social, and ethnic differences.

Support for Bereaved Families
The church proposes support schemes and award packages for the dependants of the eight heroes, commensurate with their supreme sacrifice and service to the state.
The church welcomes the state funeral announced by President John Dramani Mahama and prays for the souls of the gallant eight to rest in perfect peace.
“The Lord heals the broken-hearted, and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3) – A verse cited to offer solace to the bereaved families.
“Ghana, our beloved nation, is indeed worth dying for.” – Highlighting the significance of the heroes’ sacrifice,” the Church added.
