In a powerful display of interfaith solidarity and communal support, the Member of Parliament for Krachi Nchumuru, Hon Solomon Kuyon, and the District Chief Executive, Hon Martin Kofi Anato, have joined forces to donate substantial quantity of food items to the Muslim community within the constituency of Oti Region.

This timely intervention is to alleviate the financial burden on families during Ramadan.

Ramadan is observed in the ninth and holiest month of the Islamic calendar.

It is characterized by a rigorous dawn-to-sunset fast known as sawm. As one of the Five Pillars of Islam,

Ramadan is also serves as a period of profound spiritual reflection, increased devotion, and heightened communal charity, making the provision of food for iftar—the evening meal that breaks the fast—a vital necessity for many households.

​Hon Solomon Kuyon, a longstanding ally of the district’s Muslim constituents, emphasized that his consistent support over the years is rooted in a desire to see a flourishing and united district.

Addressing the beneficiaries, the lawmaker underscored the spiritual significance of the season, urging the faithful to dedicate their prayers to the continued progress and stability of Ghana.

He noted that national development is the bedrock of peace, asserting that a prosperous nation ensures a tranquil environment for all citizens, regardless of their religious affiliation, to practice their faith and pursue their livelihoods.

​Accepting the donation on behalf of the Muslim community, Mr. Musah Watalah expressed deep appreciation for the duo’s generosity, highlighting how such gestures foster a sense of belonging and social cohesion.

He noted that the act of giving during this month resonates deeply with Islamic teachings on empathy and supporting the less fortunate.

Mr. Watalah however appealed to other philanthropists and corporate entities to follow the example set by the MP and DCE, while encouraging fellow Muslims to maintain their spiritual focus and discipline throughout the remaining days of the holy fast.
