The Member of Parliament for Krachi Nchumuru Constituency, Hon. Solomon Kuyon, has extended relief support to residents of Beposo in the Krachi Nchumuru District following recent clashes between the Kpajuti and Macheri Konkomba communities over farmland disputes.

During a visit to the affected community, the MP presented assorted relief items alongside a cash donation of GHS 18,500 to support victims as they rebuild their lives.

The items included roofing sheets, bags of rice, cartons of cooking oil and soap, aimed at addressing both shelter and immediate household needs.

Addressing residents, Hon. Kuyon called for calm and reconciliation, stressing the importance of unity in fostering development within the area.

“Peace is the foundation of every meaningful development. I urge all parties involved to lay down their differences and embrace dialogue for the sake of our future,” he stated.

He assured the community of his continued commitment to their welfare, noting that this was his second visit since the incident.

“In times like this, leadership must be present. I will continue to stand with you until normalcy is fully restored,” he added.

The MP was accompanied by the District Chief Executive for Krachi Nchumuru, Hon. Martin Kofi Anato, as well as constituency executives led by Chairman Nana Nyurekyor Mambo I, who also echoed calls for peace and unity among the feuding factions.

Residents of Beposo expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful.

A community member remarked, “This support has brought us hope in a very difficult moment. We are grateful to the MP for not abandoning us.”

The Krachi Nchumuru District, located in the northern part of the Oti Region, is one of the newly created districts in Ghana.

According to the 2021 Population and Housing Census, the district has a population of over 79,000 people and is with Chinderi as its capital.

It was created in 2012 by Legislative Instrument 2084, covering a total area of approximately 2,969 sq km.
The district shares borders with Kpandai District to the North, Krachi East Municipal to the East, Krachi West District to the SouthEast, Sene East District to the South West and Volta Lake to the West.
