Nii Shika Gborbilor Sowah II Supports BECE Candidates with Learning Materials in Okatabanman
The Chief of Okatabanman, Nii Shika Gborbilor Sowah II, has demonstrated his commitment to education by distributing 181 mathematical sets and detergents to candidates preparing for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The donation, made on Monday, April 27, 2026, benefited 13 private schools within the municipality, with each of the 181 candidates receiving a branded mathematical set ahead of the examinations scheduled to commence on May 4.
The beneficiary schools included Temple Height, Raglo International, Kaf International, Ohemaa Basic School, Jewels of Christ, New Era School, Seven Royal Stars, Mulberries School, Golden Gate, Abundant Life, Able Ministers School, Sameleous School, and Richgar International.

Nii Shika Gborbilor Sowah II was accompanied by members of his Council of Elders, led by the Chairman, Bright Tornyeli Woanya at the presentation ceremony.
Addressing the students and school authorities, the chief described the gesture as a personal contribution aimed at motivating the candidates and reaffirming his dedication to education in the area.
“This is my widow’s mite to encourage you and to let you know that education is deeply important to me. I am solidly behind you as you prepare for your BECE,” he stated.
He further urged the candidates to remain focused and committed to their studies, encouraging them to excel and bring pride to Okatabanman.
“I entreat you to study harder and raise the flag of Okatabanman in the upcoming examinations,” he added.
The beneficiary schools expressed gratitude for the timely support, assuring the chief of their determination to deliver strong academic performances in the 2026 BECE.
