Amenfi Central MP Pays Salaries for 135 Community Teachers Under Education Initiative
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Amenfi Central, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has reinforced her commitment to improving education in her constituency by settling the March salaries of community teachers engaged under her flagship “Teacher Initiative.”
The intervention, which targets gaps in teacher availability across basic schools, currently supports 39 schools with a total of 135 community teachers.
For the month of March, the MP personally disbursed a sum of GHS 81,000, with payments made directly to the beneficiaries through their mobile money accounts.
The initiative forms part of Hon. Gyan Cudjoe’s broader efforts to strengthen teaching and learning in Amenfi Central by ensuring that underserved schools have adequate personnel to support academic work.

It also provides a source of livelihood for local residents who have taken up teaching roles within their communities.
Her continued financial commitment to the programme has been widely seen as a practical response to challenges in the education sector, particularly in rural and hard-to-reach areas where teacher shortages persist.
Observers note that the initiative not only enhances access to education but also contributes to improving learning outcomes, as more classrooms are now adequately staffed.
The consistent payment of stipends further ensures stability and motivation among the community teachers.
The Amenfi Central MP’s intervention has been praised as a significant investment in human capital development, reflecting a sustained focus on education as a critical driver of progress in the constituency.
