SUAAG Urges UN and African Leaders to Intervene in Al Fasher Genocide
The Sudanese Universities Alumni Association of Ghana (SUAAG) has strongly condemned what it describes as ongoing genocide and atrocities being committed in Al Fasher, Sudan, urging swift international intervention to halt the bloodshed and protect civilians.
In a statement issued on Monday, November 3, 2025, the association expressed grave concern over the humanitarian crisis caused by the latest wave of attacks reportedly carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
“We write with a heavy heart to condemn the horrific atrocities unfolding in Sudan’s Al Fasher. The international community has a moral obligation to act urgently to protect the Sudanese people from genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity,” SUAAG stated.
Devastating Situation in Al Fasher
According to the group, the RSF’s assault on Al Fasher has led to thousands of civilian casualties, mass displacement, and the destruction of property. Reports from the ground indicate summary executions, mass killings, and sexual violence, with hundreds of unarmed civilians feared dead.

Calls for Global and Regional Intervention SUAAG has appealed to the United Nations (UN), African Union (AU), East African Community (EAC), Southern African Development Community (SADC), and ECOWAS to take immediate action.
The association urged the international community to demand an immediate ceasefire to enable humanitarian access, impose sanctions on individuals and groups responsible for atrocities, support war crimes investigations and prosecutions, and provide urgent humanitarian relief, including food, shelter, and medical care.
SUAAG reaffirmed its solidarity with the people of Sudan, especially women, children, and displaced persons suffering amid the escalating violence.
“The time for action is now. We cannot afford to wait while innocent lives are lost,” the statement emphasized. “A peaceful resolution must prioritize the safety and dignity of the Sudanese people.”
The association called on global leaders, humanitarian organizations, and peace advocates to unite in ending the suffering in Sudan.
“Together, we can make a difference. We owe it to the victims, their families, and the world to act with urgency and determination,” the group concluded.
