Wenchi MP Donates Motorbikes to Fire Service to Boost Emergency Response
The Member of Parliament for Wenchi, Hon. Seidu Haruna, has presented two motorbikes to the Wenchi Municipal Command of the Ghana National Fire Service to enhance its rapid response to fire incidents, particularly ahead of the harmattan season.
The MP said the gesture forms part of his commitment to improving public safety and ensuring that the Fire Service is adequately supported to protect lives and property.
“This support reflects my dedication to the well-being of my people. A well-resourced Fire Service means quicker response times and reduced fire losses, especially during this dry season,” he noted.

Receiving the motorbikes, officers of the Fire Service expressed appreciation and assured that the logistics would be put to effective use.
The donation comes at a critical time, as fire outbreaks typically increase during harmattan due to dry winds, heightened household and bush fire risks, limited water sources, and accessibility challenges in remote communities.
Fire officers in the area have often cited insufficient vehicles, difficulty reaching narrow or rough terrains, and delays in responding to simultaneous outbreaks as major hurdles in carrying out their duties.
The new motorbikes are expected to help firefighters navigate congested or hard-to-reach locations more swiftly, conduct community fire education, and support early intervention before fire situations escalate.
