A delegation from the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving Planning Committee has paid a courtesy call on Chief of Staff, Dr Julius Debrah, to formally brief the Presidency on preparations for this year’s National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, scheduled for July 1.
The engagement forms part of ongoing consultations with key stakeholders aimed at ensuring a successful and impactful national observance.
The annual event has become an important platform for reflection, unity, gratitude, and national renewal.

During the meeting, the Chief of Staff conveyed the satisfaction of President John Dramani Mahama with the successful organization of last year’s celebration.
He indicated that the President is looking forward to an even bigger and more impactful observance this year, with increased participation from citizens across the country and stronger outcomes that will contribute to national development.
According to Dr. Debrah, President Mahama regards the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving as a significant national initiative that promotes unity, fosters gratitude, and reinforces the collective responsibility of citizens in nation-building.
He further urged members of the Planning Committee to view their mandate not merely as an administrative task but as a patriotic duty.
He encouraged them to introduce innovative ideas and practical initiatives that would deepen the programme’s impact, strengthen national cohesion, and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s development agenda.
The Committee, in response, expressed appreciation for the continued support of the Presidency and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a well-organized and meaningful event that reflects the values, aspirations, and shared hopes of the Ghanaian people.
This year’s National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving is expected to bring together faith leaders, government officials, civil society organizations, and citizens from all walks of life in a collective moment of prayer, reflection, and thanksgiving for the nation’s progress and future.
