The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Tatale/Sanguli, Hon. Mary Tagba, has reiterated her administration’s unwavering commitment to ensuring quality and value for money in all government projects within the district.

She emphasized that the Assembly would only engage contractors who deliver durable, high-standard projects, warning that those who execute shoddy work risk having their contracts terminated to protect taxpayers’ money.

Hon. Tagba issued this stern warning during an inspection tour of ongoing development projects in the district on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

Accompanied by the Chinese contractor working on the Tatale township roads, the DCE stressed that the government would not tolerate substandard work funded by public resources.

The inspection tour aimed to identify challenges and ensure that all projects meet the required engineering and safety standards.

During the exercise, Hon. Tagba raised concerns over several issues, including poorly constructed car parks within the Tatale Township, inadequate road linkages to the District Cattle Market and the Assembly premises, and drainage problems along major roads, particularly the main station route.

Some of the issues were discussed on-site, and both the contractor and the District Assembly team agreed to take immediate corrective measures to improve road safety and ensure smooth traffic flow.

Hon. Tagba commended the contractor for his cooperation and pledged support for the swift rectification of the identified defects.

She also expressed appreciation to the staff of the District Assembly, particularly the District Engineer, Presiding Member (PM), Finance and Administration Chairman, MIS Officer, DRIP Coordinator, and other supporting staff for their dedication and teamwork.

The contractor assured the DCE of his readiness to address all concerns promptly and to adhere strictly to construction standards to prevent future challenges.

As part of the visit, Hon. Tagba and her team paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the Tatale Traditional Area and briefed him on the current state of works and the resolutions agreed upon during the inspection.

The Chief commended the DCE’s proactive leadership and pledged the traditional council’s full support for the district’s development initiatives.

The inspection provided valuable insights into the progress and challenges of ongoing projects and reinforced the collaborative partnership between the District Assembly, contractors, and traditional authorities, a partnership expected to fast-track development and enhance infrastructure across Tatale/Sanguli.
