Nana Oye Commends Ghana Armed Forces Health Services for Exceptional Bravery and Dedication
In a glamorous evening defined by military tradition and deep professional fellowship, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, Deputy Chief of Staff, has lauded the Ghana Armed Forces Health Services for their unwavering resilience and “world-class” discipline.
Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the Health Services Officers’ Mess Annual Ball on behalf of the Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, she highlighted the vital role military medical personnel play in maintaining the nation’s stability and health security.
Addressing a distinguished audience of medical officers, nurses, pharmacists, and support staff, Nana Oye emphasized that the dedication of these professionals extends far beyond the walls of the hospital.
She noted that their ability to deliver high-quality healthcare under the most demanding and often high-pressure conditions is a testament to the unique training and character of the Ghana Armed Forces.
She described the personnel as the “heartbeat of national health security,” noting that their professionalism makes a profound, life-saving difference for patients and their families every day.
Beyond the celebration of military excellence, the Deputy Chief of Staff utilized the platform to outline the strategic vision for the nation’s healthcare landscape under the leadership of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama.

She pointed to the significant strides made in decentralizing primary healthcare to ensure medical services reach the most remote areas, alongside the critical decision to uncap the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to bolster funding and accessibility.
Furthermore, she touched upon the “Mahama Cares” initiative and the nationwide preventive screenings led by First Lady H.E. Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, all of which prioritize a compassionate, equitable, and people-centered approach to medicine.

The highlight of the evening was Nana Oye’s specific commendation of the Ghana Armed Forces Medical Services for their rapid and courageous interventions during national emergencies.
“Your reputation as the nation’s premier “first responders” remains a point of immense pride for the government and the citizenry alike,” the Deputy Chief of Staff said
She urged the service members to remain united in their purpose, expressing a bright and optimistic outlook for the future of Ghanaian healthcare through their continued sacrifice and expertise.
