Ejura-Sekyeredumase MCE Vows to Deliver on President Mahama’s Development Reset Agenda
…Targets completion of abandoned projects, improved sanitation, and enhanced local revenue mobilization
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejura-Sekyeredumase, Hon. Rafiu Adam Seidu, has pledged his full commitment to advancing the Development Reset Agenda championed by President John Dramani Mahama, with a strong focus on completing abandoned projects, improving sanitation, and boosting local revenue generation.
Speaking in an interview with Members of the Parliamentary Press Corps after engament with Parliament committee on Local government, Mr. Seidu reaffirmed his determination to ensure that all uncompleted and abandoned government projects within the municipality are finalized before new ones begin, in line with the President’s directive.
“His Excellency President Mahama has made it clear that we must complete all legacy projects before starting new ones. So far, we have completed about five of them and are continuing with others,” he stated.
Completion of Legacy Projects
The MCE outlined several ongoing projects, including the completion of a school block at C2 M/A Primary ‘B’, and a series of 12-seater WC toilet facilities at C2, Frante, Ejura-Ashakoko, and Ejura-Kotokoli Line.
“These facilities will improve education and sanitation in the municipality. We want to ensure that the people of Ejura-Sekyeredumase benefit from projects that were started but left incomplete,” he said.
Overhaul of Sanitation Management
On sanitation, Mr. Seidu announced that the Assembly has terminated its sweeping contract with Zoomlion Ghana Limited and reassigned it to local contractors to enhance efficiency and accountability.
“We have three components of sanitation — fumigation, SIP, and sweeping. The sweeping component has been handed to local contractors because monitoring Zoomlion’s workers was difficult, and payments were often delayed. By working with locals, we can ensure effective supervision and prompt payment,” he explained.

He added that the move will empower local businesses while ensuring cleaner communities.
Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Performance
The Ejura-Sekyeredumase Assembly, according to the MCE, has achieved 70 percent of its Internally Generated Fund (IGF) target as of August 2025.
“With four months left in the year, I’m confident we can meet — or even exceed — our revenue target,” he stated, adding that prudent financial management is central to his administration’s strategy.
Security and Peace in the Municipality
Mr. Seidu also stated that the Municipal Security Committee (MUSEC) has maintained a peaceful environment through joint operations by the police, military, immigration, and fire service.
“Our security situation is calm. We provide weekly fuel support for patrol teams, and regular checkpoints have helped ensure peace and safety,” he noted.
Support for Farmers and Market Development Recognizing that farming remains the mainstay of the local economy, the MCE said the Assembly is using IGF to fuel grading machines to open up farm routes for easier transportation of goods.
He further disclosed that the Member of Parliament for Ejura-Sekyeredumase has partnered with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to improve the municipality’s major market.
“We are working together to modernize the market by adding stores and paving the grounds to attract more traders and boost commercial activity,” he revealed.
Commitment to Mahama’s Vision
Hon. Rafiu Adam Seidu reiterated his unwavering support for President Mahama’s Reset Agenda, emphasizing that Ejura-Sekyeredumase will play a key role in achieving the broader national development goals.
“I am fully committed to President Mahama’s reset vision. With effective leadership, local collaboration, and accountability, we will bring tangible development to our people,” he assured.
