NDC National Chairman Praises Wa East MP for Strengthening party Grassroots
The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has commended the Member of Parliament for Wa East, Dr. Godfred Seidu Jassaw, for what he described as a remarkable commitment to deepening the party’s grassroots structures in the constituency.
Speaking during the party’s ongoing nationwide Thank You Tour in the Upper West Region, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah praised the MP for spearheading the construction of five zonal party offices, a move he said would significantly enhance party organisation and mobilization at the local level.
“You are doing great by making the NDC grassroots stronger in Wa East Constituency by building five zonal party offices,” he stated, urging other Members of Parliament on the ticket of the party to emulate the initiative.

The nationwide Thank You Tour, being led by the NDC national leadership, is aimed at expressing appreciation to party supporters across the country for their dedication and efforts during the 2024 general elections, while also reinforcing unity and preparing the base for future political engagements.
In response, Dr. Jassaw reaffirmed his commitment to the party and its supporters, emphasizing the importance of maintaining close ties with the grassroots.
He noted that his efforts were guided by a sense of duty and gratitude to constituents who responded to the party’s call during the elections.
“You have demonstrated honesty, principle of integrity and gratitude by coming over to our communities after appealing to the people to vote for the NDC in 2024 to have their developmental needs attended to,” he said while acknowledging the National Chairman’s visit.
“Indeed, you are helping us with just that. We shall keep the relationship stronger, and you won’t regret it.”
The Wa East MP further revealed that additional infrastructure projects are underway to consolidate the party’s presence in the constituency.

He invited the National Chairman to commission two more zonal offices nearing completion, noting that one had already been commissioned during the 2024 campaign period.
“As part of your political conviction that we should build the party structures, I am pleased to invite you to commission another two of our four zonal party offices that are ready for use. You commissioned one during the 2024 campaign, making five in total,” he added.
Dr. Jassaw reiterated his resolve to transform Wa East into a stronghold of the NDC, stressing that sustained investment in grassroots structures remains key to the party’s long-term electoral success.
