“Unity Must Come First If We Are to Win Back Power” — Navrongo Central NPP Youth Organiser
The newly elected Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Navrongo Central Constituency, Ayebakwo Numrod Wedam, has called on party members to put aside their differences and unite behind a common goal of rebuilding the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Speaking after his election, Mr. Wedam stressed that restoring unity within the party is the most important step toward reclaiming political power in the constituency.
“When I was campaigning to the delegates, I told them it is not about the position but unity first in the party. We need to return to power, and so we have to build unity and togetherness before anything else,” he said.

He described party cohesion as his foremost priority, pledging to work closely with the constituency chairman and the newly elected executives to strengthen the NPP’s grassroots structures and position the party for victory in the next general election.
“As for me, party unity is my priority. I will work hand in hand with the chairman and all the executives so that together we can bring the NPP back to power in 2028,” he stated.
Reflecting on the party’s performance in the 2024 elections, Mr. Wedam acknowledged the contributions of the outgoing constituency executives but suggested that leadership challenges contributed to the party’s defeat.
“I will not say the old executives did not do well. For me, they did their best. However, I still attribute our loss in the 2024 election to weak leadership,” he noted.
He expressed optimism that the newly elected leadership would provide the direction needed to restore confidence among party supporters and rebuild the NPP’s electoral strength in Navrongo Central.
With a renewed focus on unity, hard work and effective leadership, Mr. Wedam said the constituency’s youth wing would play a leading role in mobilising supporters and ensuring the party is well-positioned to recapture the Navrongo Central parliamentary seat in the 2028 general elections.
