Duo Concept Foundation Champions Fight Against Child Marriage at 2025 GAWBOFEST
The Duo Concept Foundation has taken part in this year’s Ghana Association of Writers and Book Festival (GAWBOFEST) with its flagship initiative, the Up Girl Project.
The program featured a “read and conversation” session centered on the novel Talata, the Child Bride, published by Adwinsa Publications Ghana Limited.
The book, which sheds light on the realities of child marriage in Ghana, served as the basis for an engaging dialogue on the dangers of the practice and the importance of empowering young girls.
Distinguished guests at the event included the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, the Member of Parliament for North Dayi, Jocelyn Quashie, and the Deputy Director of the Parliamentary Broadcasting Department, Peter Azameti Bamfo.

They inspired the participating students with readings from the book, shared practical insights, and encouraged the youth to take informed decisions that could help eliminate child marriage in the country.
The Duo Concept Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, is committed to empowering young people through literary projects, knowledge-sharing, and mentorship.
Beyond its educational initiatives, the foundation also undertakes philanthropic activities designed to bridge social gaps and support the holistic development of Ghana’s youth.
